Blog, the second; Milk It

I’ve been told that my friends can tell when I really love a book because it takes me so long to get through it. I milk it for all its worth; every page, every chapter, every word. I make it last because I don’t want it to end. I’ve done this with very few books, and I can admit that I read a lot of books! #BibliophilesUnite

The Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning is one of those series that I milk. I wait for each new installment with bated breath and twitchy fingers that will click that pre-order button for both the Hardcover and the E-book versions as soon as its available. I love these books so much. They’re feckin’ awesome!

It usually takes me about 3 to 5 days to get through a book. I read in the morning while I’m on the treadmill for an hour and half an hour to an hour before bed. The latest, High Voltage, came out on March 6th and I’m barely halfway through it. I’m milking it. It’s gonna take me awhile to get through it for all the right, wonderful, fantastical reasons. I love books like this and any avid reader will both understand and have books they love that help them relate to this. I turn the pages with anticipation and dread as the page numbers pass me by and the amount of pages I have left grow fewer and fewer. I love it. I hate it. Please stay with me longer, book!

Alas, such is the life of a reader. We live in other worlds only briefly. Thankfully, we can always go back to the worlds we love. Anyway, I highly recommend these books. They’re fantastic.

PS: Anything my Maggie Stievfater is also a slow-go read for me for all the right reasons. Her writing will never steer you wrong.
